This is not Dobie High School's Rodeo when it comes to hosting the GHATS Student Workshop! The Longhorn's hosted in 2013, and are excited to host the GHATS family again. Registration opens February 1, 2027

Student Awards & Scholarships



Scholarship applications will open November 1st.
Student award nominations and scholarship applications are due December 1st. Nominating ATs must be GHATS members in good standing by December 1st.
Recognition for noteworthy actions by an ATSA or SAT. Overcoming adversity to achieve success or for meritorious action in/during critical situation.
GHATS member must submit a narrative of justification via email to the Honors and Awards Chair for committee review.
Established to recognize outstanding achievement by GHATS member senior ATSA.
APPLICATION AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS ARE DUE BY DEC. 1
Support Materials:
- High School Transcript
- Resume
- Letter of support by nominating Athletic Trainer (GHATS member)
- Letter of support by school faculty member with contact information at the bottom
- Letter of support by a community member with contact information at the bottom
- Letter of candidacy by ATSA nominee
- Letter should include statement of intention to pursue a health-related profession and what the scholarship will enable them to do
If selected, the nominee must agree to give a 5 minute presentation to the general assembly at the GHATS Workshop.

The Scholarship represents Dr. Lowe’s ongoing and continued support of GHATS and his ongoing support and loyalty to Athletic Trainers. Dr. Lowe is a paragon in the Sports Medicine Community. He is a world-renowned Orthopedic and the Head Team Physician for the Houston Texans, Houston Rockets, University of Houston and several local high schools. Dr. Lowe is known for being the consummate professional; however, above all professional traits, he focuses his practice – and teaches his residents and fellows – on the importance of patient-centered care, community involvement and service and continually invests, supports and recognizes Athletic Trainers as important and integral medical professionals
