Summer Camps & Workshops
Who?: Any students entering freshman year in high school through freshman year in college interested in athletic training and/or Texas State University.
What?: Athletic Training Summer Camp!
When?: Beginner: June 22-25, 2022
Intermediate: June 15-18, 2022
Advanced: June 22-25, 2022
Where?: Texas State University (San Marcos, Texas)
Why?: To learn athletic training and emergency care skills from the athletic training faculty and staff at Texas State University.

The Athletic Training/Sports Medicine staff’s of TCU and SMU invite you to be a part of a few days of fun and
education about the profession of Athletic Training.
SESSIONS
BASIC…Designed to benefit the high school student with little or no prior athletic training experience, it is a supervised study in athletic training including: Developing taping skills, the role and responsibilities of an athletic trainer and perfecting the skills necessary to prepare athletes for practice and competition.
ADVANCED…Designed for the advanced high school student, junior college or coaching staff member who has previous experience working with injured athletes, this ses-sion covers additional information on rehabilitation, evaluation techniques and specific taping procedures.
FACILITIES AND HOUSING
Clinical coursework and classrooms will be stationed in the TCU athletic training room facilities. Recreational facilities will be available during free time, and fun activities or relaxation time takes place in the evenings. Participants will be housed on TCU’s campus and will enjoy meals served in the BLUU, a fine university dining hall.
COST
$350.00 covers ALL expenses of this three-day workshop. This fee includes: tuition, meals, housing, athletic training room supplies and a reference notebook. A NONREFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF $75.00 is due upon application. A special day rate of $275.00 for coaching staff members and commuting students is available.
The University of Texas Athletic Training Program will host a summer Sports Medicine Camp June 24-27, 2022.
As a participant in this camp, you will receive a comprehensive overview of all aspects of Athletic Training. In addition to learning anatomy, you will receive one-on-one instruction in the latest taping techniques, injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation, and emergency management.
The camp graduates are able to take the skills and lessons learned during the camp back to their high school setting and practice them in their own athletic training rooms and with their own athletes!
During the camp, you have the opportunity to experience the atmosphere at the University of Texas, one of the nation’s premier institutions of higher learning, as well as a leader in the fields of Athletic Training and Sports Medicine. The campers enjoy meeting other students from around the country who share an interest in Athletic Training, and are afforded the opportunity to work with some of the most respected professional in Sports Medicine.
