Kim Faterkowski, LAT

President

Kimberly Faterkowski is a proud alumni of Westfield High School, Blinn College, and the University of Texas at Arlington. Kim graduated from UTA in 2003 and joined the Athletic Training Staff at Cypress Springs High School. She has been a Panther ever since.  She has been married for 18 years to Ryan, who is her biggest supporter. They have 3 children, Steven (18), Rylee (12), and Tyler (4).

While attending Westfield High School, as a student athletic trainer, Kim attended GHATS Student Athletic Trainers Workshops from 1994-1998. She learned during these years just how important the Greater Houston Athletic Trainers’ Society was to the Student Athletic Trainers and Professional Athletic Trainers in the Greater Houston Area. Kim Faterkowski has served since 2003 in many different roles within GHATS. She began as the Student Athletic Trainers Workshop Registration Chair and has held many different positions, such as Social Chair, Posters Committee Member, North Representative, Vice President, and currently, President.

Shelby Jacobs

Vice President

Shelby is a graduate of Texas State University class of 2013. She received her master’s from the University of St. Augustine in 2019. She is currently an Outreach AT for Houston Methodist Sugar Land serving Boling High School. She has become highly involved in Athletic Training and is progressing to be more involved as the years go on. She is on the education committee with Houston Methodist as well as established the Social and Community Service committee for Houston Methodist. Currently her husband and her set out on a new adventure and they now own WissTech Enterprises. Her and Jason have two wonderful children, Remington (6) and Gage (3). Her family is her biggest supporter in all the adventures she chooses to begin. Athletic training has always been a big part of her life starting in high school. Shelby attended Needville High School, where she played sports, and like many others became injured and found her way to the athletic training room. At the time, Bob Marley was the AT for Needville. During her time as a student, He opened her eyes to the world of athletic training and showed her how much of an impact this profession can have on athletes and communities. She attended GHATS as a student in high school and then came back while at Texas State to work the college booth before becoming a professional attending with her own students. Throughout her career, she has seen the importance of The Greater Houston Athletic Trainers Society within the Athletic Training Profession and has goals to help continue to grow the presence they have.
